Mass Spectrometry

Mass Spectrometry is a powerful analytical technique used to identify unknown compounds, to quantify known materials, and to elucidate the structural and chemical properties of molecules. In order to measure the characteristics of individual molecules, a mass spectrometer converts them to ions so that they can be moved about and manipulated by external electric and magnetic fields.
